Don Haviland is currently Assessment Coordinator and Assistant Professor at the California State University, Long Beach. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the College of Education's assessment system for its teacher preparation and advanced degree programs. Prior to joining the faculty at Long Beach, he was Director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness at Mount St. Mary's College. His research interests include teacher professional development, assessment of student learning, and leadership and innovation in higher education.
Haviland has collaborated with Science Approach on a series of evaluations in the last seven years. He is currently directing the evaluation of the Powers of Inquiry series and, most recently, conducted the evaluation of the Ocean Explorers project. In his free time, he immerses himself in books about baseball and American history. |
